When people ask me to describe myself and my music, I always have a hard time. I feel like I have had so many influences in my life which makes narrowing it down a challenge. When I was a kid, my older brothers and sisters used to listen to music ranging from Lynard Skynard, Marshall Tucker Band, Pink Floyd and the Eagles to the Bee Gees and 70's teen heart throbs. My mom, on the other hand, made me listen to country music in the car. As I got older, I found myself drawn to Elton John, Crosby Stills and Nash and Simon and Garfunkel. Anything with great lyrics and really tight harmonies got me excited.

Then, there was choir in high school and more of the same with classical voice thrown in at college and then professional opera after that. Quite a mix!! It has just been in the last 10 years that I feel like I have blended all of my musical experiences together only to realize that I am constantly evolving and wanting to try new things. One thing is for sure, I love music and sharing it with people. I have always wanted to use it as a vessel to do good in the world and I hope I am in some way accomplishing that goal.

So, since I have to come up with a description for myself and my shows, I have decided to base it on the countless comments I have heard from friends and audience members over the past 20 years that I have been a performer. So, here it goes...

" Cassandra is an ever evolving vocalist and songwriter who is inspired by music in all styles. Whether it is singing her own original songs or rock, jazz, blues, and country covers, one thing is for certain; she gives it everything she has. Her heart and spirit are in every performance and her amazing voice will surely draw you in. Cassandra’s dynamic personality, sense of humor and interaction with the audience make the atmosphere so relaxed, it feels like you are sitting in someone’s living room. But once she opens her mouth to sing, it feels like you have been transported to another place.

People have said she sounds like a number of different artists including Sarah McClachlan, Melissa Etheridge, Bonnie Raitt, Eva Cassidy and even Janis Joplin. But when all is said and done, Cassandra has her own unique form of artistry that will surely move you, entertain you and leave you wanting more."
